Lisa Tolbert, RN, CDE

Educators

Lisa Tolbert is a Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) with Atlanta Diabetes Associates. Her responsibilities include education of diabetes self-care that emphasizes intensive therapy, continuous insulin infusion, and continuous glucose monitoring.

After earning her bachelor of science degree in nursing from Florida State University in Tallahassee, Lisa attended Emory University in Atlanta, earning her master of nursing degree, with concentration as an Adult Health Clinical Nurse Specialist.

During graduate school in 2004, she met the providers and educators of Atlanta Diabetes Associates. Inspired by their approach in managing diabetes, after graduation she accepted a position as a CDE.

Lisa is an active member of the American Association of Diabetes Educators and the Greater Atlanta Association of Diabetes Educators. Lisa has volunteered several years of service to Camp Kudzu. Camp Kudzu is a Georiga based camp that offers week-long, weekend and family programs for children and their families with diabetes. She has been a member of the Medical Executive Committee and a Clinician since 2000, and she served on the Board of Directors from 2008 to 2010.
